L-Glutathione, which is the main component of glutathione reacts to divert pigment synthesis of melanosomes from eumelanin (black) to pheomelanin (red/yellow). This explains why elevated levels of L-Glutathione have been linked to pheomelanin formation or lack of pigment in humans.
L-Glutathione is a biomimetic peptide antagonist. As an antagonist L-Glutathione competes against the natural ligand on its specific receptor by preventing any further activation of the tyrosinase, and thus blocking melanin synthesis. Tyrosinase inhibition reduces the formation of unwanted pigmentation allowing for the control over skin tone and brown spots. Light skin will then reveal and evenly change your complexion from within. You will notice that your dark spots like knees and underarms will become fairer.
